January 27, 2008. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30,
2008 in the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Quinton Gage of the Church
of Christ in Colbert, Oklahoma will officiate and the internment will be
at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottosboro. Lorraine was born February 27, 1922 in Duncan, Oklahoma to John McGahey and Ester Hampton McGahey. She grew up in Durant, Oklahoma and graduated from Durant High School in 1942. She and Melvin R. Jones were married in Durant on December 29, 1944. She and her husband had lived near Pottsboro for the last 45 years where they raised Registered Angus Cattle until Mr. Jones' death in January of 1993. She then was employed in production of Texas Instruments until her retirement. Lorainne was an avid artist and loved to paint. She was a long-time member of Mirick Church of Christ in Denison. She is survived by a son, Alvin R. Jones and wife Linda; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Jones; grandsons James Jones and his wife Christie of Plano, Jeffrey Jones of Amarillo, Douglas Jones and his wife Che' of Denver, Colorado; granddaughters, Jennifer Jones and Jill Jones of Dallas. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Melvin, son James M. Jones, sister Charlene Work and brother Jack McGahey. Pallbearers will be James Jones, Jeff Jones, Jim Wiese, Jerry Jones, Jerry Barnes, and Bob Larkins. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at Waldo Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 7610 N. Stemmons, Suite 600, Dallas, Texas 75247-4228.
