Funeral services for James Arthur Ivey, 66, were held at the Pottsboro Baptist Church Sunday afternoon with Johnnie Jackson, minister of the Church of Christ, officiating.  Interment was in Georgetown cemetery with Bratcher-Moore funeral directors in charge of arrangements.
Ivey died in the Denison hospital Thursday afternoon after 5 days of illness.  He was born in Sherman September 13, 1888 and lived most of his life in the Denison area on Rt. 1.  He was married in Pottsboro in 1910 to Vessie [sic] Stephens.  He was a farmer and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are his wife; a son, J.W. Ivey, Pottsboro; a daughter, Mrs. Alta Wage, Cushing, Oklahoma; a brother, Joe Ivey, Siloam Springs, Arkansas; 2 sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Farmer, Pottsboro; and Mrs. A.F. Church, Denver; and 3 grandchildren.
