Breckenridge - Wilma Geurin, 88, of Breckenridge, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Villa Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 16 at Johnson Moore Chapel in Pottsboro, with Rev. Charles West officiating.  Interment will follow in the Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
Wilma Eileen Morgan (Granny) Was born July 20, 1924 in Jenks, Oklahoma to John Harland Morgan and Rachel Lovett Morgan.  She graduated from Daniel Webster High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1942.  Wilma married Archie Monroe "Bud" Geurin on June 3, 1942.  She worked as a switchboard operator for Civil Service in Waco and for a transport company out of Carlsbad, New Mexico.  In 1948, Bud was hired by Standard of Texas (Chevron) in Grandfalls.  They then moved to Gainesville, Sherman, Kermit, back to Sherman and finally retired in Pottsboro.  During several transfers she worked as the credit manager at Sears, secretary to the administrator of the Kermit Hospital, and finally a secretary for Brown Insurance Agency  in Sherman.
After Bud's death in 1991, Wilma waited one year and then built a home in San Angelo.  She was a devoted member of the Southland Baptist Church and met other Christians and traveled all over the world with her "little old lady Christian group in the red windbreakers."  Wilma was also involved in the San Angelo Emmaus community and traveled with the Concho Valley Baptist Seniors until moving to Breckenridge in 2005.  Her hobbies included sewing, golfing, fishing with her husband (Papa), visiting grand kids, and spreading a smile, a cheer and a good example wherever she went.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Geurin; one sister, Louise Bidlack; two brothers, L.D. Morgan and Ernie Morgan; and one daughter, Kathie Chambers.
Wilma is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Lynn Massingill Geurin of Grandfalls; four grandchildren, Cory Boles and husband Shane of Breckenridge; Michele Brown of Sadler; Rebekah House of Tom Bean; and Rita Shrum of Sherman; and eight great-grandchildren, Tristan Boles, Geurin Boles, Dillon Chambers, Wyatt Brown, Heather Robertson, Bridgett House, Ashley Shrum, Austin Day and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family expresses their deepest thanks to Betty McKay, caregiver and friend from HomeInstead Senior Care; Dr. Prater and his staff; Villa Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center; and Solaris Hospice of the wonderful care provided to their Granny.
Memorial may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and may be left at Morehart Mortuary.
