"Skip" was born in Sherman, Texas to Walter Ray and Mary (Duval) Skipworth. He died at Stonebrook Assisted Living Center in Denison, Texas. 
On 15 July 1949, Skip wed Miss Wanda Estes in Sherman, and they were blessed with four children.
He worked for Mrs. Tucker, Anderson Clayton and Kraft Foods before retiring after 45 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trail riding and he loved to dance. Skip was always working on a project that needed repairing. He was a member of the Sherman and Lakeside Elks Lodge, American Legion and VFW. He served in the National Guard. 
Skip was preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents and sister Pauline Jacobus.
Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, Skip was survived by his son Terry Skipworth and wife Phyllis of Sherman; daughters Janice Yeary of Sherman, Karen Elmore and husband Jimmy of Pottsboro, Texas and Kim Lane and husband Glenn of Sanger, Texas; grandchildren Tim Yeary and wife Tommie, Kevin Yeary and wife Holly, Chris Yeary, Chad Skipworth, Erin Ivy and husband Todd, Colin Skipworth, Jason Lynch and wife Erika, Corey Lynch and wife Kristi, Brian Giest, Joshua Lane, Brittany Ulch and Bethany Ulch; step-grandchildren Thomas Marlow, Kayla Curry and David Ulch, Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends. 
A Rosary was recited at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel by Deacon John LeBlanc, St Mary's Catholic Parish, Sherman.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Mary's Catholic Church, by Reverend Antonio Aureus, assisted by Deacon Albert Miller.
Pallbearers were Tim Yeary, Kevin Yeary, Jason Lynch, Corey Lynch, Brian Giest, Colin Skipworth, David Ulch and Chad Skipworth.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
