Pottsboro - Martha Belle Copeland, 73, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at her residence in Pottsboro with her family by her side.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2014, at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel with Rev. Bobby Hancock officiating.
There was a private burial in Georgetown Cemetery following the service.  Serving as her pallbearers were Don Chapman, Justin Copeland, Dick Busick, Clay Copeland, Josh Bell and Cody Copeland.
Martha was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma, on October 24, 1941, to Jack and Dessie (Jackson) Griffin.
She graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with her teaching degree.  Martha married Don Copeland in Edmond, Oklahoma, on September 2, 1960.  She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Elks Lakesite Lodge.  She and Don loved to travel all over the United States.  She was always knitting and knitted all kinds of things for the family.
Martha is survived by her husband of 54 years, Don Copeland; sons, Mike Copeland and wife, Angela, and Jim Copeland and wife, Shellee; daughters, Debi Atkins and husband, Steve, and Michelle Belle and husband, Steve, all of Pottsboro; brother, Roy Griffin of Sherman; sisters, Kathryn Arning of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jackie Mathews of Madill, Oklahoma, and Mary Winters of Yukon, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family suggests memorials in Martha's name to the American Cancer Association, 8900 Carpenter Freeway, Dallas, TX 75247.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
