BROTHER OF LOCAL PEOPEL BURIED HERE ON THURSDAY
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bennett were called to Denison Monday night in response to a message which told of the death of Mr. Bennett's brother, Sam P. Bennett, who died very suddenly about 7:30 p.m.
The family of the deceased were in  Baton Rouge, La., where a daughter had received her B.S. degree recently.
G.T. Summy had charge of the funeral arrangements and brought the body to the home of Frank Bennett Monday night, where it rested until the hour of burial in Georgetown cemetery, just out of Pottsboro, the old home town of the Bennett family.
Rev. Wm.D. Craig of Whitesboro conducted the funeral services at the Methodist church in Pottsboro where the deceased had placed his membership in early childhood.
Sam Bennett grew up in Pottsboro and attended Grayson college in Whitewright.
He began his business career as bookkeeper in the First National Bank of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and later held positions in banks at Halleyville, Kendrick and Woodville, Oklahoma.
He was president of the Citizens Bank of Pottsboro where he succeeded his brother, Frank Bennett, and conducted it for nearly twelve years.
He then moved to Denison and became expert accountant at the W.J. Smith Creosote Plant for twelve years, which position he held at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters and one son, three sisters Mrs. Jessie Hogan of Whitesboro, Mrs. J.B. Jared of Riverside, California, and Mrs. John Dishman of Denison; two brothers, Frank Bennett of Whitesboro and Harper Bennett of Denison.
All were present in the Bennett home except the sister who lives in California.
The beautiful floral offerings and the large crowd of old friends who assembled at the funeral bore witness to the high esteem in which he was held.
