Jami Kay Jeffers

The Herald Democrat
29 December 2009

Jami Kay Jeffers was born on Oct. 25, 1980 in Dallas.  She couldn't wait to come into this world, as she was born five weeks early weighing only 3 pounds, 11 ounces.
Jamie passed away on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 at Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro.  Rev. Bobby Hancock will officiate.  Johnson-Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jami played soccer and was in the Denison High School Touch of Gold Band until she graduated in 1999.  She was able to march in the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  She received a certificate for a physical therapy aide from Grayson County College.  Jami used this skill and her immense love for children in her various jobs to help kids throughout Grayson County.  One of her employers even noticed Jami had such a gift that she could reach some autistic children that the most skilled doctors could not.
Jami is survived by her parents, James and Mollie Jeffers of Denison; brother, Shane Jeffers and his wife, Leslie of Little Rock, Ark.; two nephews, Ethan and Christian and one niece, Payton; two uncles and three aunts, Ed and Linda Jeffers of Richardson, Robert and Linda Jeffers of Pottsboro and Jan Jeffers of Fort Smith, Ark.  She is also survived by many cousins and friends.
In lier of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 502 St. Jude Place, Memphis, tN 38105-1905 or American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15186, Austin, TX 78761-5186 in Jami's name.
She left this earth much too early and will be sorely missed.  God now as another angel, and we will have memories that will never fade.  We love you Jami.
