POTTSBORO - Donald Roy Jacobs, 72, of Pottsboro passed from this life to his heavenly home on January 31, 2012.
There will be a family visitation time from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel, 511 W. Hwy 120 in Pottsboro.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 4 , 2012 at the Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel. Dr. Chet Haney will officiate. Burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery, Pottsboro.
Pallbearers will be Andy Jacobs, Dennis Jacobs, Kenny Ramsey, Gerald Willoughby, Tim Hartman and Gary Wade. Honorary pallbearers will be Duane Wade and John Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Don's memory to the Parkside Baptist Church Building Fund, 301 N. Lillis Lane, Denison, TX 75020 or to the donor's favorite charity.
Don was born on June 29, 1939 in Port Arthur, Texas, the son of Marguerite and Clyde Jacobs. His father died when he was a baby and his stepfather, Henry Murphy joined his life in 1946. He married Lorna Herrington on July 27, 1969 in Healdton, Okla. He worked for Brown & Root, Inc. for 28 years and lived in Deer Park. He has lived in Pottsboro for nine years and is a member of Parkside Baptist Church. He served his country in the

United States

Army.
Don leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Lorna Jacobs; his three children: son, Andy and wife, Nancy Jacobs of Baytown; daughter, Donna and husband, Kenny Ramsey of Durant, Okla.; and son, Dennis Jacobs currently of Pottsboro He has five grandchildren: Micha and Kinsley Schiebe, and Price, Georgie, and Trace Jacobs. He is also survived by his brother, Allan Murphy and his wife, Dagma of Silsbee.
