Our precious gift left this world to join the Angels on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009 from her home in Pottsboro. Joe Ann McMillin was an inspiration and strong supporter of all who knew and loved her. We know that she will be near, and if we listen with the heart, we'll hear - All her love around us soft and clear, while she is in the Lord God's care.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24 at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel with Eastern Star Services conducted by the Order of the Eastern Star, Gate City Chapter 77. The Rev. Shawn Kemp will officiate and burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery.
Mrs. McMillin was born Feb. 22, 1934 in Dallas, daughter of Ivey and Nettie Simonton Toney. She graduated from W.H. Adamson High School in Dallas in 1951. She married William McMillin on Nov. 2, 1951 in Dallas.
She was a telecommunications manager with Southwestern Bell. She was a member of Hagerman Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Gate City Chapter #7 and the Telecom Pioneers. She had also been a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship Association.
Pallbearers will be Michael Richardson, Ryan Lusk, Kevin Brown, Heron Johnson, Joseph Gallaher, Kevin Williams, Michael McMinn and Rainey Lusk.
The family requests memorials to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15186, Austin, TX 78761-5186; Hagerman Baptist Church, 4619 Refuge Rd., Sherman, TX 75092; or to the Order of the Eastern Star, Gate City Chapter 77, Humanitarian Programs, c/o Joyce Smith, 576 FM 2029, Telephone, TX 75488.
Surviving are her husband, William McMillin of Pottsboro; daughters, Lou Ann Richardson of Arlington, Texas; Jeri Annette Richardson of Krum; and Chris Ann Gallaher of Pottsboro; sister, Nettie Christine Atkinson of Grand Prairie; granddaughters, Jocelyn Clayton, Hollie Johnson, Audreanna Brown and Cassandra Gallaher; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Clayton Morris Richardson and Alexander Earl Gallaher.
Visitation will be at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel from 6 -8 p.m. Friday.

POTTSBORO - Heaven gained a hero with the passing of William Morris McMillin, 83, of Pottsboro who died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at Texoma Medical Center.   Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6 at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel with Rev. Neal Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery. 
Mr. McMillin was born on Jan. 19, 1926 in Dallas, the son of James Polk and Mary Alice Wilkins McMillin. He was a graduate of Mesquite High School in Mesquite. 
He married Joe Ann Toney on Nov. 2, 1951 in Dallas, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 2009. 
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier. He was a member of Hagerman Baptist Church in Pottsboro. Mr. McMillin served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, stationed in Saipan. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. 
Pallbearers will be Michael Richardson, Joseph Gallaher, Kevin Brown, Heron Johnson, Rainey Lusk and Garrett Nalls. 
Surviving are his daughters, Lou Ann Richardson of Arlington, Jeri Richardson and husband Michael of Krum, Chris Ann Gallaher and husband Joseph of Pottsboro; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 
He was preceded in death by two grandsons. 
Visitation will be at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel from 5 -7 p.m. Tuesday. 
The family suggests memorials to Hagerman Baptist Church, 4619 Refuge Road, Sherman, TX 75092; or Camp Straight Arrow, 25757 Preston Bend Road, Pottsboro, TX 75076.
