 Jessie Louise Roy Phillips 14 March 1920 - 2 August 1979 John
Walter Roy was born in Lowery, Arkansas on the October 22, 1890 to
Newton Jasper & Sara Ann Morrison Roy. He was married to Margaret
Annie Springer on the November 19, 1911. They were married by
Annie's Uncle George; as he stood on the front porch, they remained
seated on their horses. He was the father to Frankie Vertile
(1914-1971), Clyde Columbus (1916-1992), Jessie Louise (1920-1979),
Georgia Ann (1922-1984), Billie Alberta (1925-2009), and Johnnie Lee
(1931- 2013 ). Clyde was the only boy except for twin boy's that died
at birth in 1924. Funeral services were conducted Saturday July 17, 1914 at the Pottsboro church of Christ, by Brother J.F. Wall & Brother Bob Sholl. Pallbearers were three of his grandsons, Robert Phillips, Jackie Farber, & Byrl Farber and three of his nephews David Roy, Claude Roy & Bobby Cristman. Interment was Georgetown Cemetery, Pottsboro, Texas under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home Denison, Texas.
