Mary Emily Howard Henderson, age 103, 1 month and 7 days passed away on March 15, 2009 at her home in Whitesboro. She had a good life that was long lived.
She was born on February 8, 1906 in Denison. She was the daughter of Horace Lee Howard and Eula Lee Pearson Howard. Mary was the oldest of eight children, five brothers and two sisters, they are all deceased. She was about four years old when she moved to Pottsboro and that is where she grew up and attended Pottsboro School. Mary married Marion Allen Henderson on April 11, 1927. They lived around Pottsboro, until the year of 1932. Then they moved north of Whitesboro, at a place called Red Branch. They had two boys and two girls. Another daughter passed away at birth. She still lived there until 2004, when she moved to live with her daughter just south of Whitesboro.
Mary has always been busy making things. She was an artist who could draw and paint. She was a member of the Sherwood Shores Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Louise and, husband, Irvin Farmer of Whitesboro and Mary Jean and husband, Glenn Goode of Gainesville. She had 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren, and four
great-great-great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Allen Henderson and two sons, Lindy Ray Henderson and Charles Emory Henderson.
