THE DEATH ROLL
Mrs. Emma Beene
Pottsboro, Feb. 21 - Mrs. Emma Beene, wife of J.H. Beene, died at her residence in Pottsboro Tuesday night, Feb. 13 and was buried in the Georgetown cemetery Thursday at 2 p.m. Feb. 15.  Mrs. Beene had been in poor health for several years, but a very severe attack of the grip was the immediate cause of her death.
The funeral was conducted from the Baptist Church by Rev. Ed Carter of Gordonville.
Mrs. Beene was born in Pike County, Miss., January 11, 1845, being in her 64th year at the date of her death.  She was married to J.H. Beene in Homesville, Miss. Dec. 24, 1863, and came to Texas with her family in the fall of 1882, locating in Collin county, where they resided until about 1890, when the family moved to Pottsboro, where they have resided continuously ever since.
Mrs. Beene was the mother of eleven children, five of whom, with her husband, survive her.  She had been a faithful and active member of the Baptist Church from her girlhood, and died as she had lived, an earnest, faithful Christian woman.  Her many friends mourn her loss and tender their sincere sympathy to her bereaved family.
