Arthur Lee Christian, 65, passed away on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at his residence in Denison. Dannel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 4, at Faith Assembly of God, Denison, with Rev. Sammy Stephenson officiating. Interment will follow in Georgetown Cemetery, Pottsboro. The family will be at Dannel Funeral Home from 4 -6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3.
Arthur was born on Aug. 8, 1945 in Bakersfield, Calif., to James Lewis and Thelma (Welch) Christian. He grew up in the Sherman community and worked in the auto paint and body repair business. He attended Sherman public schools. Arthur gave service to his country in the U.S. Army. On April 3, 2009, he married Robin Christman, in Dallas.
Arthur was predeceased by his parents; one wife Edna Mae (Miller) Christian; brothers, Jimmy, Gary and William Christian; and sisters, Verna, Jennie and Velma.
Survivors include his wife Robin Christian of Denison; sons, Arthur Lee Christian Jr. of Madera, Calif.; Jerry Ray Bobo of Denison; Gary Christian of McKinney; and James Walter Christian of Joshua; daughters, Sara Christian; Neva Christian of Ft. Worth; Beverly Christian of Leonard; Stormy Cook of Dallas; and Theresa Johnson of Ft. Worth; brother, Fred Christian of Texas; sisters, Lillian Christian of California, and Barbara Sanders of Whitewright; grandchildren, Ashley, Jade, Heaven, Adam, C.J., Tommy, Coby, Danny, Katina, and other; and one great-grandchild Brooklyn.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Ray Bobo, Bobby Measles, Michael Smith, Rick Perkins, Gary Perkins and Roger McWilliams. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Smith, Larry Williams, Arthur L. Christian, Jr., Adam Lenning, Chuck Schultz, Donald Giley, Sr., Donald Giley, Jr. James A. Smith, and Danny Harvey.
The family wishes to give a special "thank you" to Jo Smith, Anna Williams, Diane Culy, Laurie Anderson, Lois Kennedy, and Sandra Doggett, for the special care given to their father.
