RUTH DARLENE FISHER FINKE, wife of Fred Leon Finke (1924-2006), married May 17, 1947, College Station, Texas.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, David L. Finke and wife, Regina, of Canyon, and Daren L. Finke of Dallas; four grand-children, Davidson Finke, Kira DeLeon, Casey Finke and Elizabeth Clifton; and four great-grandchildren, Jordan DeLeon, Lexi DeLeon, Asher Finke and Averi Finke.


FRED LEON FINKE, 81, of Canyon died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in University Church of Christ with David Lough, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon.
Mr. Finke was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Pottsboro to Fritz George Finke and Hattie Kiker Finke. He graduated from Denison High School in 1943. He served as a pilot in the Navy for two years and later graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor of science in dairy manufacturing.
Fred married Ruth Darlene Fisher on May 17, 1947, in College Station, and they lived in Canyon and Amarillo for 45 years. He was a member of University Church of Christ and will be remembered as a loving and faithful husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Nov. 21, 2005.
Survivors include two sons, David L. Finke and wife, Regina, of Canyon and Daren L. Finke of Dallas; a sister, Dorothy Clement of Pottsboro; four grandchildren, Davidson Finke, Kira DeLeon, Casey Finke and Elizabeth Clifton; and four great-grandchildren, Jordan DeLeon, Lexi DeLeon, Asher Finke and Averi Finke.
