Mary departed this earth on February 26, 2006 after a valiant and courageous struggle with cancer. We will dearly miss her grace, dignity, good humor and strength.
Mary was an employee with Department of Human Services working numerous of years as a Social Worker for Child Welfare. She advocated for children that were abused by their parents. She transferred from Child Welfare to Department of Human Services Developmental Disabilities Services Unit. She was a strong advocate for children and children's rights. Mary worked tirelessly to raise awareness of child abuse and sexual assault to help the department better address violence against children. She dearly loved each one of the children on her caseload.
Graveside service for Mary was 10:30am at Georgetown Cemetery, Pottsboro, Texas, under the directions of Cunningham Funeral Home, 209 W Main Street, Achille, Oklahoma 74720. Officiating Chaplain Alan Mattingly.




COLBERT, Okla. - James Warren Johnson 91, of Colbert, Okla. passed away Thursday morning Jan. 10, 2013 at The Homestead of Denison, Texas.
He was born Jan. 22, 1921 in Tom Bean, Texas to Warren and Edith Wiggins Johnson. He served in the Air Force from 1942-1945 as an Airplane Armorer in Europe, Belgium, France and England during World War II. He was very proud of his service.  He married Mary Louise Helms Sept. 3, 1981 and she preceded him in death Feb. 26, 2006. He retired from Delta Mining as an Auto Mechanic and Electrician for many years and was of the Baptist Faith. He loved nature especially hummingbird season and loved and cared for his family deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Leda Lihme; brothers, Louis, Carl, William, Ray, Travis and Billy; sisters, Ruth Hicks, Anna Lewis and Ruby Morris.
Surviving are two daughters, Jimmie Ruff and husband Billy of Denison, Patti Abernathy and husband Keith of Sherman; and one son, Tommy Johnson and wife Tonya of Celina; grandchildren Sandi Tocquigny, Becky Madison and Lacy Proctor; great-grandchildren Ashton and Jaiden Tocquigny and Christian Madison; great-great-grandson Riley Proctor and great-great-granddaughter Chasity Proctor; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service for James Johnson will be 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon Jan. 15, 2013 at the Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro, Texas with the Reverend Kerry Groce of Mead Baptist Church officiating. Military rites will be performed by Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Okla.
