Edwards 22 September 1937 - 17 September 2009 CW3 US Army Vietnam Herald Democrat October 29, 2009 POTTSBORO - Ronald Julian Edwards, 72, was called to be with the Lord, Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center in Brownwood. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009 at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro, with Cass French officiating the ceremony. Ronnie was born on Sept. 22, 1937 in Inglewood, Calif. to Julian Edwards and Cleo Stalcup-Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a dedicated veteran of the U.S. Army. He served two tours of Vietnam, and one tour of Korea, where he retired after 27 years at the rank of a CW3. He worked at Texas Instruments in Sherman, and in Richardson, where he retired after 20 years. After retiring, Ronnie moved to San Saba, where he spent the remaining years of his life enjoying hunting and fishing. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Sara Edwards of Richland Springs; son, Ronald Franklin of Sherman; son, Danny Edwards of Pottsboro, and daughter, Debbie Edwards of Sherman; granddaughters, Jamie Lemley of Pottsboro, Candice Bird of Sherman and Randi Edwards of Howe; great-grandchildren, Audree Corbett, James Jarrod Franklin, Alexa Yandell, Alissa and Austin Lemley. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother Homer Riley Edwards; grandsons, Jason and Travis Franklin; and great-granddaughter, Hope Nestrick.
