Sammon 22 January 1903 - 3 April 1984 The Denison Press Friday, April 4, 1958 pg. 4 Funeral services for Mrs. Kate Sammon, 86, were held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church Wednesday, April 2 at 9 a.m. The Rev. Monsgr. Thomas Zachry officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Bratcher Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Sammon, who had lived on Route 1, Denison for the past 39 years, died at her home Monday, March 31, at 4:45 a.m. after seven months of illness. She was born in Dubuque, Iowa, October 21, 1871, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Dagnan. She came to Texas with her family at the age of four, and they settled near Dorchester, then to Denison in 1919. She was educated at St. Joseph's Academy in Sherman. She married G.E. Sammon January 26, 1898 in Sherman. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church. Survivors are two sons, Dan Sammon and Mike Sammon, Denison; two daughters, Miss Mary Ann Sammon and Miss Katherine Sammon, Denison; a brother, Jim Dagnan, Dorchester, and a sister, Mrs. Annie Underwood, Dorchester; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
