Chambers The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, October 9, 1904 pg. 4 KATHERINE Written in memory of Katherine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Chambers, of Chambers, I.T., who died September 19, 1904, at about eight years of age. She is not dead, but sleeping That long and dreamless sleep, And friends are o'er her weeping; But wherefore do we weep? She shares a love we cannot know, A joy we cannot feel; And He who bids our tears to flow, Will all our sorrows heal. 'Tis hard to break the tender cord, When love has bound the heart; 'Tis hard to speak the words: "We must forever part." Then let us wipe our tears away, Since she the prize has won, And ask for strength that we may say, God's will, not ours, be done. And when our time on earth is past, And we have crossed death's river, O, may we join with her at last, And part no more forever.
