Whitewright - Funeral services will be held at Earnheart Funeral chapel here Sunday afternoon for 3 o'clock for Mrs. Francis Wendell Lucero, 51-year-old former Whitewright resident, who died Thursday, July 19, 1973, in Silver City, New Mexico of an apparent heart attack.
Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Charles Pearce, pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church, and burial will be in Bethel cemetery.  She was a member of the Bethel Baptist church.
Mrs. Lucero was born January 18, 1922 in Post, Texas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Wendell, who survive her and are now living in Whitewright.  She was married in 1940 in Sherman to Arthur Lucero, who survives her at the family home in Fort Baird, New Mexico.  Mrs. Lucero was a nurse at the New Mexico state hospital in Fort Baird.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by one son, Tommy Gierheart, stationed in California with the U.S. Navy; one brother, Lee Wendell of Carrollton; and one sister, Mrs. Bernice Stewart of Littleton, Colorado.
