Funeral services for T.G. (Gid) Worden, 78, were held at the Bethel Church at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by Rev. J.A. Henderson, Baptist minister.  Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery, directed by Glen Earnheart.  Pallbearers were Taylor Autrey, O.G. Bow, Howard Hedgepeth, C.S. Blanton, Tony Ingram, and Malley Williams.
Mr. Worden died at his home south of town at 1 p.m. Thursday, following a second stroke of paralysis Wednesday night.  He had been ill for several months.
He was born June 6, 1860 and had lived on the same farm all his life.  He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Worden.  He had never married.
Surviving relatives include two brothers, Alvin Worden of Robstown, and Walter Worden of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Isom Long of Greenville, and Mrs. Edna Windle who made her home with him.
A brother, a sister and his parents preceded him in death.
