James Barrie Blanton, 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at his home in Whiteswright, Texas after a short battle with liver cancer.
Mr. Blanton was born June 9, 1933 in Whitewright, son of Roy Glenn and Gladine Gates Blanton.  He married the love of his life, Linda Hoover, in Houston, Texas on May 12, 1967 and they enjoyed 51 years of married life together.  
Over the course of his life, he worked at the FBI in Washington, D.C. as a file clerk, a military police officer in the Air Force, a geologist, and an electrical engineer.  His hobbies were woodworking, and flying.  He was an avid private pilot and had earned his instrument rating.  He loved his family and the Lord.  He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church where he loved to sing in the choir.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Blanton, of Whitewright; daughters, Charissa McCollum of Whitewright; Amelia Audish of McKinney; sons, Chalres Blanton of Weatherford; James Roy Blanton of Bedford; grandchildren, Samuel Blanton; Ava Blanton; Cooper Blanton; Sarah Audish; Katie Audish; Emma Audish; sisters, Shirley Mitroff and Pris Williams.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, November 17, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church in Whitewright with Abe Ogea officiating.  Interment followed in Bethel Cemetery.  Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison. - - - Fisher Funeral Home
