24 January 1950 Mrs. Mary J. Funk Dies Sadler, Texas, Jan. 23 - Funeral services were conducted Sunday at Basin Springs Baptist Church for Mrs. Mary J. Funk, 79. She was a native of Jefferson County, Mo., and had lived in Grayson County for seventy-one years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. I.N. Simmons of Haskell; Mrs. O.G. Chisholm of Arlington, Calif.; and Miss Edith Funk of Sadler; three sons, C.M. Funk of Dallas; Alton Funk and Gail Funk, both of Sadler; a brother, C.M. Reid of Fresno, Calif.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
