Annual School Meeting
October 19, 1831

Denis A Tisdell, Joseph Cook and Caleb Bates Jr. were chosen directors. Henry H Sweet was chosen treasurer and Garat Sweet Clerk and were duly sworn into office as the law permits.

Treasurer's Bond

Know all men by these present that we Henry H Sweet and Joseph Cook are heto and firmly bound unto Caleb Bates Jr, Joseph Cook and D A Tisdell, Directors of school district No. 1 in Perry township, and their successors in office in the just and full sum of one hundred dollars current money of the U.S., the payment of which we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally, firmly by these presents, sealed with our seal and dated 29th of December, 1831.

The conditions of the above obligation is such that wheras the above bound Henry H Sweet hath been duly appointed Treasurer in the school District No. 1 in Perry township, now if the above bound H H Sweet shall faithfully pay over all monies and effects which he may receive by virtue of the said office and in every other way discharge the duties as treasurer faithfully, then shall the above obligation to be void and of none effect, else to remain in full force and virtue in law.

Special Meeting

At a meeting held in school district No. 1 in Perry a quorum be present voted that a tax be levied of fifteen dollars for the purpose of repairing said school house in said district Perry.

November 9th, 1831

Article of agreement made and entered into this 9th day of November, 1831, between Caleb Bates, Joseph Cook and D A Tisdell of the first part and Gordon Bolles of the second part, witnesseth that the said party of the second part agrees to furnish 500 bricks to take down and rebuild the chimney in the district school house, to put in what grass there is missing, to mend up the house and furnish a pair of ___ worth two dollars. Said chimney to be fixed agreeable to instructions from the said parties of the first part, the above work being faithfully performed, the said parties of the first part bind themselves to pay to the said party of the second part the sum of fifteen dollars, to be paid by the 1st day of January 1832.

At a district meeting held in district No. 1 at the school house in said district on the 24 day of December instant agreeable to previous notice for the purpose of taking into consideration the propriety of raising a tax to repair said school house, H H Sweet in the chair voted that a tax of twenty dollars be raised for the purpose aforesaid. Gordon Bolles, H H Sweet, Joseph Cook, Amos Butler, William Harris, Thomas Bradley and Isaiah Sweet voting in the affirmative - votes that the said tax be paid by the tenth day of January, 1832.
