Hi! My name is Cynthia Turk. It is hard to believe I have been your volunteer host since 2002! I try to make this one-stop-shopping for Lake County, Ohio genealogy. A large number of databases are now available. One of our most recent collections, a huge labor of love, is abstracts of newspapers. A large percentage of ninteenth century Painesville Telegraph and Willoughby Independent is found in the index portion of the Newspapers and Obituaries section. There are even indexes to them. To search them all, put your search term in Google followed by site:http://usgenwebsites.org/OHLake/newspapers/ So much is available on this site. Some of the best things are quite well hidden, and often names are badly misspelled. Don't just use the search engine, but click all the boxes and explore. Find some great historical information about the county. If you have comments or suggestions, or note a broken link, please e-mail me. If you contact me with questions, please send me the link to the page you are looking at. There are thousands of pages here, and I have other websites, too. Be sure to read the introductory information about databases before contacting me. If you have a database to share, or a biography or history, just let me know. Thanks to Sue Banfield of Irving, Texas, for the photos above. |
