On October 30, 1862, the battery was assigned to the Fourteenth Army Corps under General Thomas, and sent to Gallatin, Tennessee. On March 1, 1864, this battery returned to the field at Chattanooga. It was in the battles of Ralling Ford, Chickamauga,- where it lost thirteen men, thirty horses; and one gun dismounted,- Mission Ridge; and at the close of this campaign re-enlisted, and was assigned to the Third Division, Twentieth Army Corps; was in the battles of Resaca, Cassville, New Hope Church, Peach-tree Creek, and the siege of Atlanta, Averyville, and Bentonville, which closed the active service of the battery.
