Taylor, Barbara ~ September 1, 1999. Barbara C. Taylor, 78, died on Aug. 29 at Carson Valley Living Care Center in Gardnerville. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, Calif. Mrs. Taylor was born on March 4, 1921, in Binghamton, N.Y., to Leonard and Bessie Hewett Chase. She was a homemaker whose life was devoted to her four children and grandchildren. She was involved in government issues and was a staunch supporter of the 700 Club and Crystal Cathedral. She came to Gardnerville from San Jose, Calif., 10 years ago. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry E. Taylor Sr., who died in San Jose in 1967, one brother and one sister. Survivors include her daughters Penny A. Glisson of Gardnerville and Robin L. Taylor of Sacramento, Calif., and sons Harry E. Taylor Jr. of Sacramento and Matthew A. Taylor of Grass Valley, Calif.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Tognetti, Emma ~ Saturday, November 20, 1999. A graveside service for Emma Tognetti, 93, was held Nov. 18 at Mottsville Cemetery in Minden. Mrs. Tognetti died on Nov. 14 at Washoe Progressive Care Center in Sparks. She was born in Nevada on Aug. 16, 1906, to Frank and Kate Ragli Pastorino. Mrs. Tognetti was a homemaker and had lived in Gardnerville since 1959, coming from Ely. She was predeceased by her husband and all of her 10 brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her sons Darryl F. Hawkins of Reno and Gene Tognetti of Orangevale, Calif., and daughter Lois Freeberg of Reno; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
