Langtimm, Michael ~ December 11, 1999. A memorial service for Michael David Langtimm, 63, will be held on Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1151 Kimmerling Rd., Gardnerville. Mr. Langtimm, a Carson Valley resident for nine years, died on Dec. 7 at his Gardnerville home. He was born in Davenport, Iowa, on Dec. 28, 1935. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Judy; his six children, Paul and his wife Marie of Gardnerville, Cindy, also of Gardnerville, Robin of Whittier, Calif., Roseanne and her husband Alex of Ventura, Calif., David of Bellingham, Wash., and Jeffrey and Kemmerr of Woodland, Calif.; and grandchildren, Scott Langtimm and Morgan Langtimm, Christian and Reid Martinez, Jonathan Castillo and Shawn Langtimm.

Limb, Gary ~ Wednesday, September 6, 2000. A Celebration of Life will be held for Gary John Limb, 37, on Friday, Sept. 8, at 3 p.m. at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville, with Pastor Pete Nelson officiating. Mr. Limb died on Sept. 3 at Washoe Medical Center in Reno. He was born on Sept. 15, 1962, in San Jose, Calif., to John and Jean Molignoni Limb. He was a Gardnerville resident for 32 years, graduating from Douglas High School in 1980. Mr. Limb was the owner of G.J.L. Construction Inc. of Gardnerville. On Sept. 11, 1993, he and Dayla C. Keebaugh were married in Minden. He loved the Minnesota Vikings, golf, wakeboarding, camping and playing with his loving dogs, Newton and Logan. He also loved cooking and barbecuing for family and friends and talking with friends at the French Bar. Surviving are his wife Dayla C. Limb, parents John and Jean Limb, sisters Colleen Goulart and Stacey Holst, all of Gardnerville, brother Joe Limb of Carson City, three nieces and two nephews.

Lodato, Joseph ~ Saturday, July 1, 2000. A Hangar Memorial Service will be held at the Minden-Tahoe Airport today, July 1, at noon for Joseph Lodato, 78, who died June 17. People attending the service are advised to follow the balloons to Hangar 3-D.

Lodato, Joseph ~ Wednesday, June 21, 2000. Joseph S. Lodato, 78, died on June 17 at his home in Gardnerville after a six-month bout with cancer. He was born in New Orleans, La., in 1921 to Sam and Mary Lodato, who moved to California soon afterward. They settled in San Mateo and the area where they lived in now known as Lodato Avenue. Mr. Lodato joined the U.S. Navy for flight school in 1942, serving with a class of cadets at Alturas, Calif. He transferred to the Army Air Corps in 1943 and served as a flight instructor until the end of World War II in 1945. The exposure to a variety of aircraft in the military fostered a lifetime love of aviation and he was seldom without a personal aircraft for the rest of his life. With his father and brother, Frank J. Lodato of Palo Alto, he was one of the early land developers in the Santa Clara Valley. In 1946, he flew into Minden and fell in love with the area and its people, regularly visiting until finally moving to Topaz in the 1960s to be close to a fair-weather airport (Minden-Tahoe Airport) and to develop the Holbrook Highlands subdivision there. Mr. Lodato was a member of Saint Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville, and memorial donations may be sent to the church at 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville 89410. Predeceasing Mr. Lodato was his younger brother Frank in July 1999. Surviving are his son Craig of Gardnerville and daughter Linda Bartlett of Ben Lomond, Calif.; granddaughters Amy Lodato of San Francisco and Elizabeth Liemondt of Dayton; great-granddaughter Katy of Dayton; and brother John Lodato of San Andreas, Calif.

Lombardo, Michael Jr. ~ December 15, 1999. Michael Anthony Lombardo Jr., 70, died of cancer at his home on Dec. 13. A funeral service will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gardnerville on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m. Mr. Lombardo was born on Aug. 9, 1929, in Chicago, Ill., to Michael and Margaret Lombardo. He joined the U.S. Army in 1948 and was a member of the 15th Constabulary stationed in Germany. Four years later he returned to Blue Island, Ill., where he and Arlene Mae Miller were married. The newlyweds moved to Southern California in January 1953, and in 1954, Mr. Lombardo became an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. The couple raised four children and were foster parents to 11 others. When Mr. Lombardo retired in 1974, the couple moved to Gardnerville, where they built a log home. He was a security agent for Bently Nevada Corp. for 15 years. He had many interests, including classic car restoration and airplanes. He built, tested and flew a Cassutt race plane he named Freebird. He is survived by his wife Arlene, sons Michael III and Dominic and daughters Jacalyn and Caralyn, all of Gardnerville; sister Joan Schaefer of Illinois; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight nephews and nieces; and numerous in-laws.

Loughrey, Madeline ~ Wednesday, July 19, 2000. Madeline "Honey" Griffin Loughrey, 70, died July 15 at home with her husband and family. A wake and rosary will be held today, July 19, at 6 p.m. at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville. Interment will be at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery in California at noon on Friday. A native of Holyoke, Mass., Mrs. Loughrey, born July 22, 1929, to Gerald and Madelyn Griffin, lived in Gardnerville from 1955 to 1960 and returned in 1989 to enjoy her retirement years. She was a registered nurse, homemaker, CCE principal for several years at Saint John Vianney in San Jose, Calif., and a member of the Orchid Society of Redwood City, Calif. She was an avid and successful gardener. Mrs. Loughrey was preceded in death by daughters Rose Ann Loughrey and Eileen Marie Loughrey. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, James Redmond Loughrey of Gardnerville; sons Daniel R. Loughrey of Reno and Edward J. Loughrey of San Jose and daughters Mary E. Loughrey Boland of Mission Viego, Calif., and Patricia M. Loughrey Vargas of Hollister, Calif.; brother Donald J. Griffin of Florida and sisters Geraldine G. Brennan and Teresa M. Muir of Massachusetts; 10 grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.
