Edwards, Ingeborg ~ Saturday, October 28, 2000. Ingeborg T. Edwards, 76, died Oct. 25 at her home in Wellington. A memorial service will be held at a later time. Mrs. Edwards was born to Adolf and Waltraut Sweite Thumann Feb. 9, 1924, in Danzig, a free state in Europe at the time. On June 17, 1961, she and Ivan R. Edwards were married in Carson City. She had worked for Lufthansa in both New York and San Francisco. She was a Wellington resident for five years, coming from Stateline, where she was a hotel reservation clerk for 20 years. Mrs. Edwards loved to walk and enjoyed her horses, dogs and cats. She is survived by her husband Ivan R. Edwards of Wellington; son Eric R. Edwards of Fresno, Calif.; sister Dorothea Hackbarth of Hagen, Germany; and two nieces in Germany.

Egan, Jean ~ October 9, 1999. Jean Egan, 69, a Gardnerville resident for 15 years, died on Oct. 6 at Select Specialty Hospital in Reno. Mrs. Egan was born on Feb. 25, 1930, in Chicago, Ill. She and her husband Robert were married on Jan. 2, 1949, in Yuma City, Ariz. Mrs. Egan was a homemaker, who enjoyed crocheting and knitting and spending time with her family. She liked video poker and was a past member of the Women of the Moose Lodge. Mrs. Egan was predeceased by her mother and one brother.Survivors include her husband Robert of Gardnerville; son and daughter Dan Egan and Rea Martin, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ely, Emma ~ Saturday, April 8, 2000. Emma von Roenn Ely, a Gardnerville resident for 15 years, died on March 30 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital in Carson City at the age of 91. She was born on April 24, 1908, in Stade, Germany, to Edmund and Henrietta Albers von Roenn, and emigrated to the U.S. in 1937. A former resident of Goodyear, Ariz., Mrs. Ely was a newspaper publisher for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Good Earth Garden Club. Mrs. Ely was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Eugene S. Ely, who died in 1975, and brother George von Roenn. Surviving are her daughters Irene E. Gurley of Gardnerville and Dorene M. Ely of Avondale, Ariz.; brother Edmund von Roenn of Stade, Germany; and grandchildren Jesse E. Gurley and Darcy E. Gurley, both of Gardnerville. Burial will be in Avondale, Ariz.

Elze, Karl ~ December 4, 1999. A memorial service for Karl H. Elze, 86, will be held today, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. at New Beginnings Christian Church in Washoe Valley, 145 Esmeralda Ave. Mr. Elze died on Dec. 1 at his home in Carson City, where he had lived for 25 years. He was a freelance mechanic and an inventor who held several patents. He enjoyed a good day fishing at Topaz Lake.Surviving are his wife Judy Elze of Carson City; brother Walter Elze of Montclair, Calif.; grandsons Karl Elze of Tulare, Calif., and Keith Elze of Lakeview, Ore.; great-grandsons Karl Jr. and Kenny Elze of Tulare; and several nieces and nephews.

Ensminger, Donald ~ Wednesday, March 8, 2000. A memorial service for Donald Walton Ensminger, 81, was held on March 5 at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. Mr. Ensminger died on March 4 at Sierra Convalescent Center. He was born on Dec. 16, 1918, in Stillwell, Ill., to William and Inez Greer Ensminger. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He lived in South Lake Tahoe from 1958 to 1978, resided in Oklahoma City, Okla., for 10 years and moved to Carson City in 1998. Mr. Ensminger was a self-employed contractor and a member of the Masons and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing and lapidary work and he loved to travel. His wife Exie LaVonne preceded him in death in December 1997.Surviving are his daughters Dian Elaine Larson of Gardnerville, Leora Denise Ensminger of Carson City and Donna Luella Ensminger of Tatum, N.M., and son Donald Walton Ensminger Jr. of Tahoma, Calif.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Etcheverria, Martin ~ Wednesday, September 6, 2000. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Martin Etcheverria, 73, on Friday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville. The Rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m., and burial at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden will follow the Mass. Mr. Etcheverria died on Sept. 3 at Carson Valley Residential Care Center in Gardnerville. He was born in Arneguy, France, on July 8, 1927. He was a sheepherder and lived in Chino, Calif., before moving to Gardnerville nine years ago. Survivors include his brothers Jean Etcheverria of San Francisco and Jean Etcheverria of France, sisters Dominica Etchemendy of Buffalo, Wyo., and Graciana Larroca of France, and several nieces and nephews.
