Birthroot 
Also called Indian Balm and Trillium

Birthroot blooms in late April and early May and is rare.  Its nickname is "Stinking Benjamin." It has been used in treatment for gangrene, insect bites and skin irritations.The plants basic medicinal use is to stop hemmorhaging  A tea made from the plant's roots were given to new mothers after childbirth.
