Samuel P. Caldwell

 

 Private, Company G, 54th Kentucky Infantry (US), enlisted August 26, 1864, in Company G, by September 21, 1864 and
discharged on June 21, 1865 in Louisville, KY. He is found on the 1890 Wise County Special Census stating that he served for
a period of 9 months and 25 days. He states that he lived at Bonds Mill and was injured in the right breast from explosion of cartridges,
discharged on a surgeon’s certificate. He was granted a pension on August 17, 1885, #341284.
He was born December 25, 1850 and died September, 1920, buried in the Coeburn Cemetery, Coeburn, VA,
son of William Hamilton and Frances Martha (Tyre) Caldwell. Samuel married 1st to Sarah J. Cook and 2nd to Cynthia Smith
