Another Confederate Gone.
 
Mr. J.C. Newton, a well-known citizen of Stafford, dropped dead Tuesday evening of heart trouble while walking from his home to the barn to feed stock. He was a Confederate soldier, aged 77 years. He leaves a widow and ten children. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Mr. Abraham Newton was found dead near his residence, in Stafford county on last Wednesday. When he was discovered he was in a sitting position, his back against a post and his hands upon his face.

Geo. W. Newton laid to rest
 
The burial of the late Geo. W. Newton was made in the graveyard of White Oak Baptist Church, Stafford, Friday afternoon, and was largely attended, many people from this city being present. The service was very simple as the funeral will take place in the church on Sunday, July 22nd, 11 a.m.
