Hewitt Family Cemetery

U.S. #17 to Poplar Road (Route #616,) turn right and go approx. 1.1 miles to home of Stacy and Mary Raines on left of Poplar Road. To get to the cemetery, follow the road between several barns for approx. 0.1. mile. Cemetery is bounded by tall concrete posts. There were no tombstones in the cemetery. According to Mr. Raines, Mrs Smoot's (deceased) first husband's mother (Hewitt) and father are buried here. She tried to have the bodies moved to Antioch Church but was unsuccessful. Mrs Childs (Lyman Bryant' s (deceased)) grandparents are also buried here. Hewitt's are also buried here. Mr. Raines thought Mr. Peter Schooler (who was axed to death) was also buried here.
