Fritter Family Cemetery
Contributed by: Homer Musselman
This cemetery is located outside the
wall of the Master Family Cemetery #1. J. Douglas Bradshaw was a pallbearer for
Mary Catherine Fritter Wilson and said there were two cemeteries there. He said:
"After the funeral the family gathered at the late home of the deceased and
I expressed surprise to one of her daughters, Blanche Wilson, that her mother
had been buried outside the enclosed part of the cemetery. She said that
her mother had often told her that when John Masters built the masonry enclosure
he had built it adjacent to the old Fritter Family Cemetery. She said
that her mother had often expressed a desire to be buried in the old family
cemetery." Doug Bradshaw also believes that our mutual gg grandfather,
Barnett Fritter, is buried here. The genealogy of the Fritter family is
delineated in John H. Bradshaw & Scythia Enfield Fritter of Stafford County,
Virginia by J. Douglas Bradshaw.
