Mr. Stewart W. Walker,
Martinsburg, W.Va.
Dear Sir

If not giving you too much trouble, please learn from your county clerk, when a marriage license was issued for the marriage of Mr. John A. Roller, Timberville, Rockingham Co., VA., and Miss Louise Darby, Martinsburg, W.Va. They were married some time in November or December. We would like to know when, where and by whom they were married. John is a splendid fellow (a widower) and was married quietly to Miss Darby, and it was kept a secret until a few days ago, when the news reached us. Roller then wrote from New York (at the suggestion of his bride) to his sister, near here about his marriage, but gave no particulars. He is traveling constantly for some Western firm, and his route is not known, otherwise, we would write direct to him. We would like to have the matter for publication, this week (we go to press Thursday evening) and give John a "send off", as we hope to do for you "before the roses come again."

Any particulars you may give as to this Darby (we think we have the proper name) will be regarded conficential. With thanks in advance for the favor asked, which we hope to reciprocate, and with best wishes,

We remain, very kindly,
Your friends,
Henkel & Co.
