Zigler - Flook

On Wednesday morning, Nov. 6, 1901, at a quarter after four o' clock, our highly esteemed friend Mr. D. F. Zigler and Miss Effie Flook, of Paulington, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony at the home of the bride's parents, by the groom's cousin Elder David Zigler, of Broadway. The bride who is a beautiful blonde of charming manners wore a gray traveling suit, with hat and gloves to match. The groom wore the conventional black. After the ceremony the happy couple drove to Harrisonburg, where they took the early train for Washington, D. C., where they remained until Saturday. The hour came for the arrival of the guests. The bride was beautifully attired in black silk, with white satin and applique trimming. At five o' clock the guests filled the table which presented a scene of beauty. The floral decorations were chrysanthemums, ferns, and roses. The presents were many, useful, and beautiful. About eleven o' clock the young ladies and gentlemen were again invited to the dining room where the bride's cake was cut. As the young gentlemen cut their slices of cake you could hear them exclaim, "saved." We would suppose they meant from an "old bachelor's fate." Miss Caroline Neff being the lucky one got the dime, Miss Katie Depot the darning needle, and Mr. W. L. Rife the ring. Among those present whose names have not been mentioned were Mr. Oscar Flook and Miss Minnie Flook, brother and sister of the bride, Mr. Dan Zigler father of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Mich. Zigler, Miss Stern, Mrs. Emily Rife, Mrs. S. Beam, Mrs. Emma O' Roark, Mrs. Jos. Crist, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crist.
