Strickler Homes

Below Zirkledale Stock Farm are several old Strickler homesteads and a very old Kagey place, where Henry Kagey located in 1769. The Stricklers, we are told, knew the location of a silver mine in the adjacent Massanutten Mountain, and would occasionally make horseback trips to the Philadelphia mint, carrying silver ingots in their saddlebags. According to the story, these Stricklers learned the location of this silver mine from the Indians.
