One of the buildings of Massanutten Academy, Woodstock, was the home of U.S. Senator H.H. Riddleberger (1844-1890), who was in the Senate from Virginia, 1883-1889. Crowning the hill at the southwest entrance to town, by the Valley Turnpike, this old house has for many years been a familiar landmark. Senator Riddleberger was born in Edinburg on October 4, 1844.
