It is said that the home of Robert Allen, a native son of Shenandoah, who was born in Woodstock on July 30, 1794, and who represented the district in Congress from 1827 to 1833, was located in Meem's Bottom, west side, near the point where the bridge crosses the river to Strathmoor. Nothing apparently remains of this house today.
