Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Adele Stickley of Rt. 2, Strasburg, will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Round Hill Church of the Brethren conducted by the Rev. William Zirk and the Rev. Doc Shank. Mrs. Stickley, 74, died Wednesday night at 11:05 o'clock in the Winchester Memorial Hospital. Surviving with her husband, Boyd Blair Stickley, are a daughter, Mrs. Dunbar Baker of Womelsdorf, Pa; two sons, Ellsworth Stickley and Ralph Stickley, both of Rt. 2, Strasburg; a brother, Roy Rickard of Stephens City; and four grandsons. Mrs. Stickley was born Feb. 5, 1897, at Strasburg. She was a daughter of George Rickard and Bertie Wakeman Rickard. A member of the Round Hill Church of the Brethren, Mrs. Stickley was also a member of the Round Hill Women's Fellowship and for many years she was a teacher in the church's Sunday School. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Samuel Stickley, Harold Lindamood, Lee Bullwinkle, Marwood Rickard, Frank Crabill, Frank Smith and Philip Orndorff. The body is now at the Stover Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 8 o'clock. Relatives will meet at the Stickley home about one hour prior to the Saturday afternoon services. The body will be placed in the church one-half hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Round Hill Church of the Brethren building fund. |
