Mrs. W.E. Stickley Dies After Illness

  Mrs. Mary Susan Stickley, wife of Walter E. Stickley, died yesterday evening at 4:10 o'clock at her home just north of Strasburg. She had been in ill health for the past five years with her condition declining rapidly in the last year becoming critical last Friday morning.

  She was born at "Harmony Hall" North of Strasburg, June 15, 1873, a daughter of the late George Amos and Sarah Kern Hinkins.

  Mrs. Stickley had joined the Walnut Springs Christian Church when a child and had transferred her membership to the Strasburg Christian Church about 27 years ago. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and a member of the Home Demonstration Club.

  Survivors are her husband, Walter E. Stickley, three sons and a daughter, Boyd Stickley, Strasburg, Fred Stickley, Waterlick; Douglas Stickley, Winchester, and Lucille Stickley at home; also 7 grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Albert Saum and Mrs. Annie Wharton, Strasburg, and Mrs. D.R. Harrah of Bluefield, W.Va.

  Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday evening at 4 p.m. from the Strasburg Christian Church, conducted by her pastor the Rev. Nelson M. Fox.

  Burial will be made in the family burial ground near her late home.

  The body will rest at the Stover Funeral Chapel until removed to the church for service.
