Luna Holiday Lowery, widow of Charles Lowery, and native of Oranda, Virginia, died on Sunday, July 18, at 6:45 a.m., at Salisbury, Maryland. Mrs. Lowery was born March 3, 1878 in Clarke County, a daughter of Charles M. and Mary Alberta Pangle Stickley. She was a member of the Walnut Springs Church. Her husband preceded her in death in September 1926. Survivors are the following children: Cecil Lowery, Mrs. Hyla Schwartzbeck and Mrs. Cora Lee Cooley, all of Rockville, Md.; and Mrs. Alberta Sine, Mt. Falls, And these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Annie Hodson, Winchester; Mrs. Lizzie Hodson, Mrs. Katie McDonald, Turner Stickley, all of near Strasburg and Mrs. Effa Kline, Waynesboro, Virginia. Also surviving are these step-children: Arie E. Carlisle, Rockville, Maryland; Mrs. Annie Taylor, Winchester, Turner Lowery, Ohio; James Lowery, Washington, and Mrs. Hattie Stickley of Oranda, Twenty grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. The body will remain at the Stover Chapel in Strasburg where friends and relatives will meet at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday and proceed to the Walnut Springs Christian Church for services at 11 o'clock. The Rev. W.H. Leake and the Rev. Charles Grubbs will officiate. Interment will be in Walnut Springs Cemetery. |
