Again has the dark shadow of the death angel's wing passed over our communtiy and another of our brightest and most lovable boys has been called from earth to the better land "beyond the sunset's radiant glow." On Sunday morning, Jan. 19, 1913, the spirit of Clarence Jacob Sager quitted its home to put on the robes of immortality after a short life of fifteen years. he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. N. Sager, residing about one mile north of Mt. Clifton, VA. He was baptized in infancy, and was well known and beloved by all, especially by those with whom he came in daily contact. For several months, he had been a sufferer -- unable to lie down for a moment, and in his last hours his sufferings were most intense. His remains were laid to rest in the Powder Springs cemetery on Tuesday, the funeral services being conducted by the Rev. J.W. Hausenfluck. The fond parents have the profound sympathy of the entire community in this sore bereavement brought to them by the death of their first born. Yet sadness fills their hearts, for this one they loved so well is no more. The sentiment of their hearts is evidently the same as that of the poet when he wrote the following lines: "All is dark within our dwelling, But God's promises are full of comfort to such as love and trust him. They point us to a glad reunion in the bright and beautiful beyond. |
