FINAL CALL COMES TO MRS. ALBERTA STICKLEY

Esteemed Resident of Oranda Succumbed Yesterday at Age of 78 Years; Funeral Services Friday

  Mrs. Mary Alberta Stickley, wife of the late Charles M. Stickley, of Oranda, passed peacefully away into the Great Beyond on Wednesday morning, December 14th. Her death ocurred as a result of the infirmities of old age, and she was waiting for the summons which came to her about three o'clock.

  The funeral of Mrs. Stickley will take place tomorrow, Friday, afternoon at two o'clock and will be conducted at the Walnut Springs Church, at Oranda, of which she was a member, by the pastor, Rev. F.B. Sapp. Burial will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.

  Mrs. Stickley had just passed her 78th birthday fifteen days before her death. She was born at Marlboro, Frederick County, Virginia, November 29, 1849, the daughter of Isaac N. and Mary J. Pangle. Her husband had preceded her to the grave eleven years ago. Mrs. Stickley had also recently lost a son and daughter, Lucy and Joseph Stickley, in the past several years.

  She was a fond mother and loved to attend her church, of which she had long been a member. She had chosen a special pew in the church, which she always occupied. Mrs. Stickley will be greatly missed by her children, and by her many othe relatives and friends.

  She is survived by six daughters and two sons, as follows: Mrs. Luna Lowery, Mountain Falls, Va.; Mrs. Annid Hodson, Winchester; Mrs. Lizzie Hodson, Oranda; Mrs. Katie McDonald, Oranda; Mrs. Essa Kline, Oranda; Mrs. Lizenia See, Romney, W.Va.; Turner A. Stickley, Oranda, and Luddie Stickley, Coal Mine, Va.

  Mrs. Stickley is also survived by five brothers; Hite and W.R. Pangle, Mine Bank, Va.; Hugh and Mack Pangle, Middletown; and R.J. Pangle, Pittsburgh, Pa. Besides these there survives her forty-one grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

  Six grandsons will act as pallbearers at the funeral tomorrow. They are Lester McDonald, Preston and Clifton Stickley, Bernard and Charles Hodson, and Cecil Lowery.
