James Barbour Esq. Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom these presents shall come greeting. Know ye that by virtue of a Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 961, issued the 11th of December 1794, there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Thomas Williams and Abraham Williams, a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and fifty four acres by survey bearing date the 16th day of November 1810; situate in the County of Shennandoah on the south eastwardly side of the fort mountain and bounded as followeth to wit: Beginning at a small pine on the south side of the fort mountain corner to David Allen and supposed to be very near a line of William Ellzey's Mountain survey thence with said Allen's line south thirty four degrees east eighty poles to a chesnut oak corner to John Overall, thence with his lines, south seventy one degrees, west seventy four poles to a forked chesnut oak, thence with another of his lines part of the distance and the other part supposed to be on or near a line of _____ Woods, south thirty four degrees, west four hundred and twenty poles to two hickories and a white oak at the foot of the timber ridge, thence north sixty five degrees, west sixty poles to a chesnut oak and black oak on the side of the fort mountain and thence north thirty seven degrees, east five hundred and twenty four poles to the beginning with its appurtenances. To Have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Thomas Williams and Abraham Williams and their heirs forever. In Witness whereof the said James Barbour Esq. Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the twenty fifth day of October in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen and of the Commonwealth the thirty ninth. |
