Joseph Johnson Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia:

To all to whom these Presents shall come - GREETING: KNOW YE, That in conformity with a survey made on the nineteenth day of January One thousand eight hundred and fifty two, by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 19148 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Simon Barb a certain Tract or Parcel of land, containing Six and one half acres, lying in Shenandoah County, on the drains of Stony Creek and bounded as follows viz:

Beginning at a pine corner to the lands belonging to David Barb and Henry Tusing, and extending thence with said Tusing's line S. 42 W. 22 1/2 poles to two pines, a red oak and a chesnut oak in his line. Thence leaving his line N. 77 1/2 W. 10 poles to four chestnut oaks a corner to Lee's large survey: Thence with a line of the same N. 36 1/2 E. 169 poles to a pine and thence S. 30 1/2 W. 144 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land , with its appurtenances to the said Simon Barb and his heirs forever.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said Joseph Johnson Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the first day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three and of the Commonwealth the Seventy Seventh.
