James Wood Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia,

To all To whom these presents shall come Greeting:

Know ye, That by virtue of a Land Office Treasury Warrant, number one Thousand four hundred and one issued the thirtieth day of may one thousand seven hundred and ninety five, there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Phillip Peter Baker Junior a Certain Tract or parcel of Land containing Ten Acres, by Survey bearing date the sixteenth day of June, one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven, lying and being in the County of Shenandoah near the road leading from Marlbro Ironworks to Brocks gap and is bounded as followeth to wit.

Beginning, at three white oaks of Phillip Peter Bakers line and Corner to Stephen Dedawick and to the land Surveyed by Phillip Brodback and running thence, with Brodbecks Line North one degree West ninety two poles to three white oaks corner to the Said Brodbecks in said Phillip P. Bakers line, thence with his line, South Sixty three degrees East, forty four poles to three white oaks his corner and then with another of his lines, South twenty seven degrees West eighty two poles to the Beginning. With its appurtenances;

To have and To hold the said Tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances, to the said Phillip Peter Baker Junior & his Heirs forever.

In witness whereof, the said James Wood Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his Hand and Caused the lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the fifth day of November, in the year of our Lord, one thousand Seven hundred and ninety eight, and of the Commonwealth the twenty third.
