John B. Floyd Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia:

To all to whom these Presents shall come - GREETING:

KNOW YE, That in conformity with a survey made on the fifteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and forty eight, by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 14,775, there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Martin F. Miley, a certain Tract or Parcel of Land containing two acres and a quarter lying and being in the County of Shenandoah, adjoining lands of Jacob Layman & said Miley's other lands & bounded as follows, Viz:

Beginning at two marked black oaks and a large hickory, a corner to the land said Miley purchased of Abraham Whisson formerly Cline's land and then with a line of the same N. 34° W. 140 7/10 poles to stone set in the ground on the West side of the north mountain road a corner to said Layman; Thence with his line S. 31 1/4° E. 54 pols To a Station between a cornered black oak and white oak, a divisiion corner between said Layman's and Miley's other land, Thence with a line of said Miley's other land S. 36° E. 86.7 poles to near a corner hickory and 23 1/2 links from a black oak; Thence S. 37° W. 42 poles to a large black oak, a corner to Eli Saum's (formerly Wolf's land) Then with said Saum's line N. 39° 101 1/2 poles to a stake in said line at the intersection of al ine of said Miley's land purchased of said Whisson, and then with a line of the same to the beginning with its appurtenances.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said Martin F. Miley and his heirs forever.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said John B. Floyd Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the thirtieth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine and of the Commonwealth the seventy third.
