John B. Floyd Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: To all to whom these Presents shall come -- GREETING: KNOW YE, That in conformity with a survey made on the eleventh day of November one thousand eight hundred and fifty, by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant, No. 18,748 there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Philip Lindamood a certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing Nine & 1/2 acres lying in Shenandoah County on some of the drains of Stony Creek and bounded as follows, Viz.: Beginning at two pines, one dead marked a white oak and a red oak saplings on the end of a ridge, a corner to said Lindamood's other land, in a line of the lands belonging to Godfrey Miller, running thence with said Miller's line S. 23 1/2° E. 72 poles to three red oaks & two small pines on the top of a ridge at or near Lewis Naselrod's corner, also at or near the said Millers corner; thence with a line of said Lindamood's other land, N. 53 1/2° W. 86 poles to a white oak and two chestnuts & a red oak sapling in said Lindamood's line where a pine formerly stood, said Naselrod's corner, thence with a line of said Lindamood's other land, N. 7° E. 42 poles to the beginning, with its appurtenances. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said Philip Lindamood and his heirs forever. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said John B Floyd, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the first day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one and of the Commonwealth the seventy sixth. |
