James Wood Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that by Virtue of a Land Office Treasury Warrant number One thousand four hundred and One issued the thirtieth day of may Seventeen hundred and ninety five there is Granted by the said Commonwealth unto Laurence Houdeshelt a certain tract or Parcel of Land Containing nineteen Acres by survey bearing date the seventh day of June One thousand Seven hundred and ninety Seven lying and being in the County of Shenandoah On the drains of Stoney Creek and bounded as followeth (to Wit) Beginning at a pine a black Oak and a white Oak Sapling corner to Henry Reader and George Lantz & others and running thence with Readers lines south Seventy four poles to a pine by a drain Standing in a line of William Hough thence with his lines South Sixty five degrees east thirty poles to three pines his corner then with another of his lines South nineteen degrees west ninety poles to three pines corner to John Miller (Sadler) and to the Land which did belong to William Foltz then with Foltz's line north thirty six degrees east One hundred poles to a black Oak and a pine corner to said Foltz's land in the said George Lantz's and Others line and then with their line North thirty five degrees west One hundred and eight poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances To have & to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the sand Laurence Houdeshelt and his Heirs forever. In Witness whereof the said James Wood Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the twenty third day October One thousand Seven hundred and ninety nine and of the Commonwealth the twenty fourth. |
