Edmund Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to all to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know Ye that by virtue of a warrant issued from the late lord Proprietors Office of the Northern Neck and in Consideration of the Ancient Composition of two pounds sterling paid by John Stover unto the Treasury of this Commonwealth there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said John Stover Assignee of Balser Hoover who was Assignee of Thomas Demsey a certain tract or parcel of land, containing four hundered Acres by Survey bearing date the twenty fourth Day of November one thousand seven hundred and Eighty six lying and being in the County of Shannandoh near the North River of Shannandoh also between the said River & Powells Fort Mountain about three Miles from the Mouth fo the Narrow Passage Run and bounded as followeth To Wit: Beginning at two Red oaks and a white oak Sapling corner to the Land Surveyed for Christopher Macinturf and extending thence with his line North Sixty five Degrees East one hundred and Eighty six poles to three white oaks corner to Macinturf and Henry Cohenour thence South seventy four Degrees, East one hundred and two poles to two pines & a Chesnut oak and a Spur of the Fort Mountain thence South twenty eight Degrees East seventy two poles to a Double pine by a large Rock thence South three Degrees East Seventy four poles to three pines on a high hill thence South sixty Degrees West one hundred & thirty eight poles to a Spanish oak white oak & hickory on a hill side and on the West side of a Branch and the Powell Fort Road & Near the same thence South forty one Degrees West eighty four poles to four chesnut oaks on the side of the fort Mountain thence South Sixty Six Degrees West one hundred & twenty poles to three chesnut oaks one Hickory thence North thirty two Degrees West Eighty eight poles to three Triangular Chesnut oaks in the line of the land Survey'd for John Huddle thence with that line North thirty six Degrees East one hundred & Eighteen poles to a small white oak in the line of Jacob Huddles Land (formerly Ulrich Beelers) thence with that line North sixty four Degrees East twenty poles to his corner Stake near a chesnut oak a Dogwood and white oak standing on the point of a hill thence North thirty two Degrees West ninety six poles to the Beginning With its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land With its appurtenances to the said John Stover & his heirs forever In witness thereof the said Edmund Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his Hand & caused the lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the Twenty eighth Day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred & eighty eight and of the commonwealth the Twelfth
